How to run allshare cast on a device. Samsung AllShare - how to transfer files, movies and music over the air? Official media server Allshare PC

Modern phones are on par in terms of power with not the newest computers. However, due to the small display, it can be difficult to unlock its full potential. In this case, the function of connecting the phone to the TV comes to our aid. On it you can relay the picture from your phone while watching your favorite movies, photos, or even just explore the World Wide Web or go through applications. In this case, you need to know how to properly connect your phone to the TV, which is what we’ll talk about today.

HDMI connector is our best friend

The simplest, but at the same time effective way to connect is via an HDMI cable. To do this, as you might have guessed, you don’t need much, not less, a corresponding connector on your smartphone and TV, as well as an HDMI cable. Often, the phones themselves have a mini-HDMI or micro-HDMI connector, which is done solely to save free space and is not reflected in the data transfer speed. The process of synchronizing your phone and TV is incredibly simple, and there are a lot of benefits from it:

  • Turn off both devices, connect them with an HDMI cable, and then turn them on again
  • Using the TV menu device, select the signal display source - HDMI (the names may vary slightly depending on the brand of the TV manufacturer)
  • We enjoy the result!

In this case, the TV will display both video and audio. Having a good audio system, you can fully enjoy the surround sound of your favorite music from your phone. And browsing the Internet reaches a completely new level, because, you see, no 4, 5 or even 6 inches of phone screen can compare with the diagonal of a home TV.

Good old USB

Everyone is familiar with the USB connector... And here we couldn’t do without it. However, it is worth noting that if you use the USB connection method, your phone will perform the banal function of a flash drive. However, even in this case, watching movies on a TV is much more convenient than on a phone display. The process of connecting your phone to your TV via USB is no different from HDMI. We connect one end of a special cable to the phone and the other to the TV. It is also recommended to turn off both devices first. In this case, automatic setup will occur, and you will not have to personally delve into the TV menu interface.

Use of wireless technologies

The era of wires is fading into centuries, and they are being replaced by wireless technologies, which also affected the process of connecting a phone to a TV. Home tech giants, notably LG and Samsung, have released software that allows their mobile products to sync with TVs, as long as they both have built-in Wi-Fi, of course. To do this, you just need to connect both devices to your home network and launch the necessary program. Smart Share and AllShare for LG and Samsung respectively. Those who are unlucky enough to become one of the owners of products of these brands should not immediately despair. If both your devices support

  • We perform the same operation, only on TV. The Wi-Fi Direct function is usually easily found in the Network tab of the TV menu
  • We find the phone in the list of detected devices and send a synchronization request
  • Using your phone, we accept the request and begin to enjoy all the benefits of using Wi-Fi Direct

  • The ability to connect a smartphone to your TV is a huge plus, because in this case using it is a pleasure. Large screen, loud speakers, user-friendly interface. The process itself is not complicated a priori, and after reading this article, we believe you should have no questions at all about how to connect your phone to the TV.

How to display an image from a smartphone screen on a monitor

In one of the previous articles, we talked about and examined in detail the wifi settings for Sony, Samsung and Lg TVs.

Here we will talk about ways to connect your phone (smartphone/tablet) to a TV to transfer images and watch video files in good quality.

It should be noted right away that all functions are tied to the technical capabilities of the device: you should not make equivalent demands on modern flagships and devices that are currently technically outdated.

So, now directly about the connection methods and settings for broadcasting video from your phone to your TV.

How to connect your phone to TV via wifi?

    1. 1. To watch movies from your phone on your TV, you can use the “Wi-Fi Direct” function. The capabilities of this technology extend to:
    • - transferring multimedia files between devices and playing them;
    • - broadcasting images from the phone screen to the TV using Miracast technology.

However, synchronizing your phone with a TV via Wi-Fi is only possible if both devices support Wi-Fi Direct technology: if the devices are equipped with this function, you can proceed directly to setting up the connection.

So, to display a picture from your phone to your TV:

A). Connect to the TV by manually entering the wireless network name and password:

    • - on the TV, go to the “Settings” tab – “Wi-Fi Direct”;
    • - then “Option” or “Parameters” (depending on the TV model) – “Manually”;
    • - indicate the name and password for the network being created (to be on the safe side, it is better to write down this data);
    • - in the smartphone settings, go to the “wifi” section, in the search, find the wireless network created in the previous step and connect to it by entering the password (security key).

B). Or connect your phone using automatic setup using:

    • - in the same way, go to the “Wi-Fi Direct” settings on the TV;
    • - in the “Parameters” subsection, select a network, click “WPS” and wait for synchronization between devices.

This connection is quick, simple and takes minimal time. But what if the “magic” Wi-Fi Direct function is not provided?

How to connect your phone to TV via hdmi?

    1. 2. You can also output video from your phone using a wired connection “micro HDMI - HDMI” or “mini HDMI-HDMI”.

It is logical that for such a connection an “HDMI” cable is used - this is a standard connector for a TV (while “micro” or “mini” connectors are provided for a smartphone).

Depending on the technical capabilities of the device, it may be necessary to install third-party software.

To transfer the image, you only need to connect the devices with the above-mentioned cable and select the appropriate “HDMI 1” or “HDMI 2” mode on the TV (in accordance with the connector to which the cable was connected).

How to connect your phone to TV via USB?

    1. 3. If devices are equipped with MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) support, you can use a micro USB to HDMI cable.

This option is more interesting because:

    • - power is supplied to the phone via the same cable, which allows you to avoid draining the battery at the climax of an interesting film (and this problem is very relevant, since when watching video files it is easy to forget about the charge level of the device);
    • - allows you to receive control signals from the remote control.

It is also worth paying attention to the competitor of the MHL standard - Slimport, which has become quite widely used in LG and Nexus gadgets.

The cable for such a connection remains the same - “microUSB – HDMI”.

Other ways to watch a movie from your phone on TV

    1. 4. To connect Apple brand devices, you can use the Lightning Digital AV Adapter.

Connection comes down to simply connecting devices through the appropriate connectors: on a smartphone it’s “Lightning”, on a TV it’s “HDMI”.

    1. 5. Some manufacturers of TVs and smartphones are equipped with proprietary synchronization technologies: Samsung with its AllShare or LG with Smart Share.

Setting up a connection usually comes down to minimal actions on your part:

    • - registering an account and file-sharing resource;
    • - and, in fact, moving files to a kind of file hosting service.

Thus, connecting a TV to a phone usually comes down to a simple connection of devices with a cable and a few manipulations in the settings using the remote control.

However, at present, a wireless connection is more relevant, which shifts the outdated cable connection “to the background,” therefore, with an eye to the future, it is worth paying attention to modern wireless standards.

AllShare technology provides wireless synchronization of PCs, laptops and Samsung mobile phones with the TV, providing streaming content, viewing tabs and information about calls and text messages on the TV screen.

Sync your phone and SMART TV

Synchronization of devices occurs via the built-in Wi-Fi module in the phone and the built-in or optional Wi-Fi module in LED TVs. In this way, two devices can exchange information with each other. To synchronize devices you need to run the application AllShare bilaterally. The phone name will appear on the TV screen in the list of external media. By pressing the "Enter" button you can enable the function MediaPlay with the following set of options: “Video”, “Photo”, “Music” and “Recorded TV programs”. All that remains is to select the required file.

You can also use your phone to play media files on a TV screen located on your PC's hard drive. To do this, select “Play file from server on another player” from your phone’s AllShare menu, which will allow you to access media content shared from your PC.

Ways to share multimedia content from a computer to a TV

    • installation of a special program that will provide access via Wi-Fi to your multimedia files:
    • using Windows Media Player on Windows7 OS

Options for connecting a TV and PC on a home network

    1. Computer - TV(or other media device).
To connect, you must use a crossover type network cable.
    2. Computer - Switch (switch) - TV(or other media device).
    3. Computer - Router - TV(or other media device).
To connect devices, you must use network cables that are directly crimped.

How to set up Windows Media Player to play content from your phone on your TV screen

In Windows Media Player you need to go to Flow and enable the following options - Allow remote control of the player And Automatically allow devices to play my media, then go to More streaming options and allow transmission on the network by clicking on the link on the required device Tune and highlight Make all library items available to this device. To transfer multimedia content, you need to synchronize your PC and phone using Wi-Fi, as a result, when you press on the phone Play a file from the server on another player, the name of the PC will appear, clicking on which will open content from the Windows Media Player library. Now media content can be played and downloaded to your phone.

    Samsung Allshare allows you to:

    • save or transfer shared multimedia content to a computer or other devices
    • play shared multimedia content on a computer or other devices
    • View or play shared media content stored on your computer from another device
    • view or search shared content stored on connected devices

Attention! Don't forget to configure your antivirus and firewall to allow access to multimedia. If you use Samsung PC Share Manager, then create a rule for it or add it to exceptions.

Connecting Samsung TV to PC (directly)

    1. Turn on the TV and PC
    2. Connect them with a network cable (crossover crimp)
    3. Write down the addresses for your computer and TV. In the properties of the local connection to PC enter address: 192.168.1.1 , and on TV: 192.168.1.2 . Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 for both devices. An alternative connection method would be to use a switch, using network cables crimped in a straight (ordinary) way.
    4. Run the program Samsung PC Share Manager and follow these steps in sequence:
    • Find the folder containing the content you need to share
    • Click on the button at the top (with a green checkmark), thus opening access to this folder to the TV
    • Next, go to the menu: “Sharing” - “Set device policy”. Set the device status to "accepted". Then click “Set State” (green arrow), thereby saving the changes.
    • Now all you have to do is press the “Media player” button on the remote control and select a video file from your PC.

    Using Home Media Server

Finding a server on the device used to play content

The search must be performed in accordance with the user manual of the media device (for example, the instructions for your TV). If the server is not found and all connections are made correctly, then in the program settings (in the section Server) check that the list of allowed client devices is empty or the IP address of the device is in the list of allowed ones. When using a network protection program (firewall, antivirus), check its rules for the module hms.exe(if the server runs as a Windows service, then for the module hmssvc.exe), if possible, put the firewall program into learning mode, restart the Home Media Server (UPnP) program. And if you use other media servers, disable them while setting up the Home Media Server program.

The server does not open on the device for playback

If the server is found, but there is no way to open it in the media device, then go to the settings of the “Home Media Server (UPnP)” program in the section Device: mode “DLNA 1.0?”, “DLNA 1.5?”, “Authorization Service”, “Russian names of main folders” (using these settings will help solve problems with opening the server), and in the section Server set a permanent server port (from 1024 to 65535).

Navigating through the media resource database on a media device

If the device supports Russian language, then in the program settings (section Device) turn on the mode “Russian names of main folders”, this affects the names of the main folders of the media content database. If the Russian language is not supported by the media device, then select the “Translit” mode for encoding Russian names; the “Russian names of the main folders” mode is turned on/off at the user’s request (if disabled, then the names of the main folders of media resources will be in English).

Slow navigation through the media content database may be due to the operating characteristics of the media device, the inclusion of the “Exclude empty folders when transferring information to UPnP devices” mode, the presence of slow removable media in the system, frequent changes in media resource directories and the enabled “Automatic directory scanning” mode when they change while the server is running." The “Exclude empty folders when transferring information to UPnP devices” mode can be turned off, the “Removable media” folder can be deleted in all sections of media resources (Movies, Music, Photos).

Navigation through directories of media resources in the structure of their storage on disk can be done through the folder “Watch Folders” (Russian language is turned off), “Catalogues of media resources” (Russian language is turned on). If some media content is not visible on the device, but is shared in the program, then this may be due to the mime type transmitted by the server for this media resource. The Mime type can be changed in the program settings - Settings button - "Media resources" section - "File types" - selecting a file extension - Change button.

Samsung AllShare may not be as popular or technically advanced as Apple's AirPlay, but it is widely used for wirelessly sharing multimedia content between devices proudly bearing the logo of the famous South Korean giant.

    What it is?

With this function, you can easily view videos or photos on a large TV screen that were taken just a few minutes ago by the on-board camera of your smartphone, as well as listen to your favorite music tracks.

This feature potentially allows you to exchange files between desktop computers, phones, TVs and tablets, but the easiest way is to ensure communication between Galaxy smartphones (for example, S II or S III) and branded Smart TV receivers. The fact is that the All Share module is already built into these devices, so you can exchange media content between them without additionally purchasing hardware or installing special software.

If you're one of those lucky people, it won't take long to set up a wireless connection and you'll be able to enjoy viewing your family photos or videos on the huge screen in your living room.

This is the most commonly used way to watch media on a big screen. To achieve stable data transfer, you must first log in to your account on both devices, and also ensure a reliable Wi-Fi connection between them.

To transfer multimedia content, you need to activate on your smartphone the specific video or audio clip, music theme or photo that you want to send to your SMART TV. A special icon will appear in the upper right corner of the display in the form of a monitor icon, which will signal that the file you have selected can be sent to an external device. After you click on the icon, automatic transmission of the file will begin.

While showing content, you can use your smartphone as a remote control, initiating fast scrolling of the video, changing the sound volume or picture size.

It's worth noting that even if you don't have a Samsung SmartTV yet, you can still enjoy wireless data transfer from your Galaxy smartphone to a simpler LCD receiver. To do this, you will need to purchase an AllShare Cast wireless adapter from the store and connect it to your TV.

After your smartphone establishes a connection with the adapter, you will be able to view the image from the screen of your mobile gadget on a large TV screen.

You can find more detailed information about this technology on the official Samsung website.

If you are one of the lucky owners of these devices, but the entire setup of the wireless communication channel will not take much of your time.

Let's look at the instructions for setting up file sharing step by step.

    We configure your smartphone.

Setting up on a Galaxy S3 smartphone

The first thing you need to check is the connections of your smartphone and TV to a common wireless Wi-Fi network. And of course synchronization. Otherwise, you simply will not be able to establish a connection between them and, as a result, broadcast content.

    1. We go to the main menu of the smartphone.
    2. We make a sequential transition to the “Settings” and “Advanced settings” tabs.
    3. Next, go to "Available devices".
    4. And lastly, you need to activate the “Data exchange” item.

We turn on the AllShare application, which is in the general list of preinstalled programs. If this function is activated for the first time, you will be asked to go through a simple registration procedure, in other words, to create a personal account. If you have previously used this application, then in order to log in to the system, you simply need to enter your login, that is, your email address and, accordingly, your personal password, in the special fields.

    Setting up a smart TV

We turn on the device using the appropriate button and activate a special service called Smart Hub, which allows you to manage various types of multimedia applications.

Find and activate an application called AllShare Play. In order to log in to the system, you need to press the red button located on the remote control and marked with the letter A. In the window that appears, we enter all the data that is necessary for successfully logging into your account.

Setting up the exchange of multimedia content between two devices.

Further actions depend on which device we choose as the base one.

We use Samsung SmartTV as a base device.

In this case, we will put the smartphone aside for now, and we will view and listen to all the media material that is stored in its memory using the interface of the smart TV. The technology used in the DLNA home network allows you to view and manage data from the smartphone's memory using the TV remote control.

The user is only required to select one of the proposed categories (photos, videos or music), and then confirm (select) his smartphone in the list of available devices. If everything is done correctly, multimedia files of this category will appear on the TV display.

If you have a high-quality wireless connection, then broadcasting content to the receiving device, that is, a TV, will be stable and fast. To view photos, the user can use the sequential scrolling function or the preset TV functions (slide show, rotation and additional effects).

While playing music tracks, the cover of the corresponding album appears on the screen; the program itself can play the entire playlist or only selected music. The entire library is managed using the Tools button.

    Basic device - smartphone

This method is most often used to view multimedia files on a large screen. To achieve a stable data transmission channel, you must first log into your account on two devices and establish a good Wi-Fi connection between them.

In order to send content to your SMART TV, you must activate a specific file on your smartphone. A special symbol should appear in the upper right corner - a monitor icon, which should signal that the file you selected can be transferred to an external device - the receiver. After clicking on the icon, the file broadcast starts automatically.

While watching content, your smartphone can be used as a remote control. It's worth noting that if you haven't yet become the proud owner of a Samsung SmartTV, you can use all the wireless data transfer features of the Galaxy on a simple LCD TV. To make this possible, you need to purchase a special AllShare Cas wireless adapter and simply connect it to your TV. After successfully setting up everything between the two devices, you will be able to view all the content on the big screen.

Modern phones are on par in terms of power with not the newest computers. However, due to the small display, it can be difficult to unlock its full potential.

And browsing the Internet reaches a whole new level, because, you see, no 4, 5 or even 6 inches of phone screen can compare with the diagonal of a home TV.

AllShare technology wirelessly syncs PCs, laptops and Samsung mobile phones with your TV, allowing you to stream content, view tabs and call information,...

Hello my dear. In this article we will "gut" the media server Allshare PC, which is an official development from the manufacturer Samsung for its devices.

Although, to be honest, I won’t have to tell you for a long time, the implementation of this application is very simple and accessible. The functionality is quite simple and ascetic. In principle, we said the same thing about this media server.

But on the other hand, it performs its main function, transferring files from a computer to a TV, well, and what else does the average user need?

Of course, Allshare PC cannot fully compete with its brothers, such as and, but it also has features on board that the above competitors do not have.

For example, the application supports working with a cloud data storage service SugarSync and can interact with Android mobile devices, thereby connecting all your electronic pets into one media network. But, first things first, let’s begin the story.

At the beginning, it is worth noting that at this point in time, the Allshare PC application as such no longer exists. It was mainly used on earlier models of the company's devices. Now the program has been modernized and renamed Samsung Link.

But by and large, little has changed in functionality. That is why, for a better understanding of the essence of this technology, watch a short video clip:

Well, first you need to download the media server itself from the link here. Now you need to install it. The process itself is standard, there should be no problems:

Another way to do this is to right-click on the application icon in the system tray and select "Run Samsung Allshare":

A window will open in front of you in which the “Connection Wizard” will prompt you to start setting up the media server. I think this is not a very convenient option, so click the “Cancel” button:

By the way, at this step, be sure to turn on all Samsung devices that you want to combine into and run Allshare clients (Samsung Link) on them. The media server on your computer will detect them and ask you for permission to add:

So, let's not get distracted, let's continue setting up. Now follow the path "Tools - Settings":

Here you need to specify the folders on your computer where your audio-video-photo files are stored, which you want to make available for viewing on the TV screen:

In the next step, go to the "Rights Settings" tab to allow or deny certain devices access to the Allshare PC media server:

If you go to the "Server" tab, you can see how your computer with the program installed will be displayed on other devices on your home network:

Well, that's basically all the settings. As you can see, everything is very simple and understandable even for a beginner. Now let’s move on to the most interesting part, let’s put this whole thing into action. In short, let's move from words to deeds.

So let's first take a look video from computer to TV. There are two ways to do this. Let's look at the first, easiest one. Everything is done in a couple of button presses on the TV remote control.

Turn on the TV and press the "Source" button on the remote control. In the list that opens, select your Allshare PC media server:

Now select the type of content you need. We will watch the video:

After a couple of simple steps we get to the desired video and here you go, watch:

When you press the "Tools" button on the remote control, a menu opens in which you can rewind in time, change the picture size and much more. Study all points carefully.

By the way, the video in the screenshot above shows how the puppies of my beloved dog Hati, whom I mentioned, eat their mother’s milk. I remember it was fun when she brought them in as many as eight pieces, they barely managed to distribute them to good hands. 🙂

Now let's talk about the second way to view computer content on TV. To do this, open the Smart Hub menu and select Allshare (Samsung Link):

Launch it and in the menu that opens, click on the media server icon again:

Basically, at this step, we examined the main functions of the program in detail. Now we can say with confidence that you know how download and configure the Allshare PC media server.

But this article does not end there. There is one more interesting point worth mentioning. Namely, this is the ability of the application to work with the cloud file storage service SugarSync:

The point of this feature is that you can upload multimedia files to the Internet and view them on the large screen of your Samsung Smart TV. I think this is an interesting feature that deserves special attention.

But we will not talk in detail about SugarSync in this article now, since this is a topic that requires a separate detailed consideration. Therefore, in the future, we will definitely return to it, so as not to miss interesting information.

And now, we can sum up. What can we say in conclusion about Allshare PC? The program is very easy to set up and use. If you are not a very sophisticated user, then consider this option seriously.

In addition, we must remember that thanks to the presence of a mobile version, this media server allows you to significantly expand the range of Samsung devices operating in the same media network.

At this point, if anything was unclear, please comment on the article. We will answer everyone, we will not offend anyone.
