Finding a letter by identifier. Russian Post - tracking postal items by item number

Founded in 2002, the national postal operator Russian Post provides a wide range of services. In addition to letters, bills and money transfers, nearly 300 million parcels are processed every year at 42,000 branches. Thanks to modern services, tracking of postal items is available to you, which means that now you can know exactly about all movements of the parcel at any stage of delivery.

Package Tracking

Checking the tracking of your parcel is very simple - you can do it online from your home computer or smartphone. You can track your parcel using the track number at any time, and also install a special application on your smartphone that allows you to check the status of the shipment at any time. An individual track number is assigned to each shipment after delivery is completed, from now on you can track the track for free at any time. If you made a purchase online, the track number will be visible on the order page, and if it is a package from a private person, you can track it using the receipt number. You can also track international postal items, which greatly facilitates purchases in online stores in other countries - the parcel will definitely not get lost and will arrive on time. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the track numbers of parcels from other countries differ from the numbers of Russian parcels - they contain Latin letters. Most foreign tracking numbers are recognized by the service, so, as a rule, problems with postal tracking do not arise. If you cannot track a postal item from abroad, then you can check the tracking of the parcel on the post office website of the sending country. As a rule, to deliver an order, transit routes through different countries are used, in each of which you can track your parcel.

Convenience for clients

Russian Post is trying to improve its service for customers as much as possible; now a resident anywhere in the country can use the mail search service. Jokes about Russian Post delivering packages after a year or not delivering them at all are no longer relevant - if the track is not tracked, a person can immediately contact the support service and the issue will be resolved as soon as possible. The transition to modern technologies has not only improved the work of the country's postal operator, but also increased customer confidence. Now anyone can track a parcel by number. In addition, Russian Post provides the opportunity to subscribe to changes in shipment status and receive automatic notifications by email every time a package changes location.

Maximum security

The ability to track the parcel reduces the risk of loss to a minimum. The service allows you to check your mail at any time, and if you have any questions, you can contact the hotline. If you cannot track the parcel, then at any post office you can submit an application to search for postal items. The system is thought out to the smallest detail; postal tracking is carried out both in Russia and in other countries. You can submit an application within six months from the date of sending; to do this, it is enough to present the check issued upon sending and an identification document. Nowadays, cases of lost parcels are extremely rare, but if this happens, you have the right to receive monetary compensation.

A modern service allows you to know about the status of your mail at any time, with it you will always be sure that the parcel will arrive at the right place. Applications, websites, alerts - all this makes mail operations as fast, convenient and safe as possible.

Russian Post is the national state postal operator of Russia, a full member of the Universal Postal Union, providing domestic and international postal services. Receives, sends and receives postal items: parcels, small packages, parcels and correspondence; provides financial and delivery services to both individuals and businesses.

Russian and foreign online stores often send orders to customers using this postal service or integrate it with its delivery to provide high-quality and inexpensive services. For example, on the basis of post offices, I organized express delivery and order pick-up points, reducing the time for issuing orders across Russia to 2-5 days. Some transport companies combine their cargo transportation capabilities with the vast resources of the national postal operator. Thus, she recently created a joint project with Russian Post called “Rural Delivery” for delivery to remote locations, regional and district centers of Russia, where there are no own branches.

According to the press center, in the 1st quarter of 2018, Russian Post processed 95.7 million international mail items, and more than 60% of online shoppers used delivery services. In 2018, the second stage of a sorting center will be built in Vnukovo and in 3 years the network of logistics centers will be expanded throughout the country. According to e-commerce experts, the growth of international incoming shipments will continue, mainly due to parcels from China.

Active promotion of such large Chinese stores as , Banggood on the Russian-language market, as well as new players that are rapidly gaining popularity, and , have significantly increased the flow of incoming mail. Nevertheless, Russian Post continues to provide quite high-quality services for the delivery of parcels, both international and domestic.

Tracking parcels in Russia

When registered, a postal item is assigned a tracking number, with which you can track when it was sent, stages of movement and the date of receipt at the post office. The tracking service allows you to monitor the receipt of your shipment and is especially useful in resolving disputes with the seller in case of detected discrepancies. The name and address of the recipient will help you make sure that the package is going to its destination, and the weight of the shipment will help you roughly estimate the contents of the attachment. The latest delivery status will inform the sender that the item has been successfully delivered.

In addition to simple letters, all other shipments within Russia are always sent as registered. Incoming international letters and small packages can also be sent as unregistered. In these cases, you can only rely on the integrity of the sender or seller and the absence of various excesses. If a parcel is lost or not sent without evidence of non-receipt, neither postal services nor sellers will refund money for the goods and shipping.

Tracking data will also help when filing claims for failure to meet delivery deadlines. The Russian Post website directly states liability for violating these deadlines.

Tracking Russian Post parcels by identification number

The barcode postal identifier (SPI) for domestic Russian Post items consists of 14 digits, where:

  • the first six digits indicate the recipient's post office code,
  • the next two digits indicate the month the barcode identifier was printed,
  • numbers from ninth to thirteenth - unique departure number,
  • and the last digit is the control digit.

After paying for the forwarding service, the cashier will issue a fiscal receipt, which, in addition to the standard cost and name of the service, will indicate the RPO number (registered mail), this is the tracking number - the postal identifier of the Russian Post. In the RPO line, the last digit in the check is printed separated by a space, but it must be entered without spaces.

It looks like this on a cash receipt:

RPO tracking is instant - upon acceptance, the post office employee enters information into the database, and the first status “Accepted at the post office” will appear when tracking Russian Post by ID immediately after sending. The postal identifier is an excellent tool for monitoring the movement, delivery times and weight at each stage of the journey of the delivered item.

Tracking Russian Post by international shipment number

For international postal items, the regulations of the Universal Postal Union have approved a unified track code standard. The type of postal item is determined by the first two Latin letters, the next nine digits in the tracking number consist of a unique eight-digit number and the last verification digit. The last two Latin letters in the tracking number indicate the country of departure. It is impossible to determine the destination country by the track number.

Examples of departure numbers:

  • CQ---US (CQ123456785US) – parcel from the USA,
  • RA---CN (RA123456785CN) – small package from China,
  • RJ---GB (RJ123456785GB) – departure from the UK,
  • RA---RU (RA123456785RU) - internal number assigned to unregistered parcels when arriving in Russia.
